A year ago, Ryoko married Taro, who has a child. At first, Ryoko had a happy marriage. However, Taro is alcoholic and begins to violence Ryoko. Ryoko is tired of such a life. Shinji, Taro's stepchild, tries to protect Ryoko from such Taro. Ryoko eventually begins to have a romantic feeling for Shinji, who protects herself.
